Blogfamous? Nowhere near. But help my buddy!
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/716564577/pitch-a-comedy-about-making-movies My buddy is a film student just finishing up his thesis, and knowing him for most of my life, it’s going to be a hell of a film. For those who are interested in film or animation, you know about entering your films into festivals. You also know by know that those festivals are expensive fuck. The link above...

I haven’t had a whole lot of time to work in these past few weeks, but I managed to squeeze in some hours on this project today. It’s coming along alright! It needs a lot of work on the hood, and obviously I have seats, a steering wheel, and a windshield to make, but it’s progress either way! The tires and just kinda stand-ins for now, I like them alright but I think I can do...
Back to it!
So life has been incredibly insane as of late, and I obviously haven’t made a whole lot of updates, so I’m gonna try to get back to it! In the time that I’ve been away, here are some of the highlights of what has happened! ~ I Graduated! - From Kansas City Art Institute with my BFA, majoring in Animation. After all of the crazy stuff that happened over the semester I managed...

My senior thesis! This is the cut for Kansas City Art Institute’s 7th Annual Frame-by-Frame film festival! I think I did relatively well given the constraints! There are a few things that I’d obviously like to fix, but that’s completely doable! For now, enjoy this cut and let me know what you think!
I apologize for the lack of posts lately. As mentioned by my last post, I’ve been a little down and out for awhile, and thus I’ve been working my ass off to catch up. Essentially, I lost 3 weeks of time from being too sick to really function, and I’ve spent somewhere in the range of 6 to 7 weeks out of classes, which has been absolutely horrible. Luckily, all of my professors...
The post below is an updated version of one of the last scenes of my film. The improvements from its original state is pretty obvious, since most of it is actually animated! The only thing I have left to complete is the lady’s stuff, and she isn’t in there for very long so it won’t be very difficult. This video is an updated version after talking with my program head to get...
Here’s the second video I promised with the fixed animation!
Ahh, my first update in 3 weeks. Feels good man. Obviously I’ve been down and out for a little while, but at least I have a good reason. I recently discovered that I have epilepsy, and between seizures, medication, and getting sick from working on the film, I’ve lost a lot of ground. Luckily, everything seems to be settling down a bit. Mornings are still rough and I sleep a lot, but...
An up to date animatic for 3.9.11, my mid-term deadline! I’ve added some emphasis to the final “accident” scene, making Bill feel like he’s more of a hazard than he truly is, and giving him a false sense of accomplishment for the smallest task. I think it emphasizes the narrative a bit better. Of course, the transition will be worked with a lot in post as it’s a bit...
Oh yesh, updated animatic! Yes, scene 7 does look goofy because I haven’t completed it yet. I’ve gotten quite a bit more layout done, and this one shows all of the assets I’ve built being utilized in scenes! Transitions have yet to be defined on this cut, the are a lot of fades and time of day changes that will make more sense when I get to lighting set-ups. But those...
I had a goal today of finishing the lady for my film and getting some driving scenes up and running. She’s all done now! I had to do weight painting for her since I changed her mesh so much from Bill’s, and the UVs got absolutely fucked somewhere along the way, but I managed to fix all of that in the matter of a few days! I’m getting much quicker and less ambivalent of...
I got my car macro to work! My tires now roll with the car whenever it is animated, and I don’t have to do anything but move the car. It’s very exciting!
I’m continuing asset building for my film after animating during the break! The hospital is the beginning as well as the end to the film, so I decided to start modeling that. The textures aren’t quite done yet, and I’m still playing with the lights, but here’s a rough estimate so far! I played down the colors for the second render, and I’m still using indirect...
